A student should be well-rounded when applying for Marist. It isn't only a GPA that will get a student into the school: extracurriculars, community service, appplication, and grades all contribute to the admissions process. The students need to be competitive because the number of applications continues to rise and a relatively small percentage is accepted. Personally, when filling out the application, I was myself. Marist is looking for a diverse group of students to touch every aspect of life. Students shouldn't worry about if they will get in or not because if they have the something to contribute and have the qualities to succeed they should be more than fine during the college application process.

I recommend going to visit the campus several times. Talk to admissions officers, students, and faculty. Cureent tudents will tell you both the pros and cons of the school and really help you decide if it is the right school for you.

I think this applies to all schools, but don't underestimate the power of proper grammar, organization, and conclusion paragraph. I read the essays of my friends and a few small changes took the essays from so-so to interesting. Marist doesn't do interviews, so really view the essay as important and a way to make yourself stand out.
